HOW DO THESE SHOOTS WORK?
It all begins with a moment of vulnerability. Each participant gets to share their story with me in depth and uncover what they feel is their most constant battle or hurdle in life. This can be something they have always dealt with or can be something that has come out of a recent events. These raw talks allow us to dive into identity, human nature, strengths, weaknesses and help us face what it is that we want to share that might encourage or help others know Gods goodness through these testimonies in each of our lives.
These stories are not shared to just show what they have overcame and have moved on from, but to also convey the tension that is held between healing and continual growth that comes from living in this world.
After we meet I pray and see where God is leading me to do the photoshoot. I also take the time to visualize and create up the elements that will be apart of the shoot. The collaboration that comes with doing these projects is my favorite part of it all! The participant and myself work together to make the vision come to life. Sometimes there is music, specific clothing, creative material etc.
My prayer is that these shoots would inspire other photographers to branch out and create content that is not just for a profit but for the sake of CREATIVITY and the JOY that is found in the art of photography.
My Prayer is that through these photos people will feel and see the goodness and faithfulness of God through every season. That he has uniquely designed each of us so intricately. That even in all of our humanity he longs for relationship with us. That though we are all different and wrestle with different things, the one thing we all have in common is that within our flaws lies testimonies of our fathers grace and mercy.
